Sufix Advance Mono

Diameter chart, reel capacity & backing guide

Sufix Advance Mono manufacturer product package

Advance Mono combines HMPE with Sufix Hyper Copolymer. Despite the braid comparison in its slogan, it is sold as monofilament. Verified U.S. packages are 330/1,200 yards at 4-20 lb and 1,200 yards at 25 lb; the 25 lb filler length conflicts. This is distinct from Advance Fluorocarbon and Advance Ice Mono.

Is Advance Mono right for your setup?

Advance Mono is worth comparing when you want a non-braided mainline and are interested in Sufix's lower-stretch positioning. It is not a braid-volume substitute. Use its own diameter, especially when a reel label names only a pound test, and choose strength for the rod and cover before buying a filler spool.

Choosing your setup

Choosing your Advance Mono strength

The current 6, 8 and 10 lb rows are 0.010, 0.011 and 0.012 inch. Those values differ from many braids with similar pound labels, despite the product's braid-themed slogan.

At 12 and 14 lb, the listed diameters rise to 0.014 and 0.015 inch. Check compact spinning-reel handling as well as the calculated space.

The 17-25 lb sizes belong in a setup chosen for the lure, cover and rod rating. The availability of a 1,200-yard package does not imply a need to spool that much.

Specification-based guidance, not a ReelCalc hands-on performance test. Capacity results are estimates, not measured fills.

Calculate it as Advance Mono

Use the listed Advance Mono diameter rather than a braid-equivalent pound test. The manufacturer's slogan does not change the line volume calculation.

Choose a verified package for the strength

At 4-20 lb, compare 330-yard fillers with 1,200-yard bulk supply. At 25 lb, only the separate 1,200-yard product codes are verified here: filler length fields say 330 yards while their image labels say 250 yards. Those filler packages are withheld pending clarification.

Keep fill level conservative

Wind evenly and stop at the reel manufacturer's recommended lip clearance. Lower-stretch positioning is not permission to overfill or to ignore the rod's line range.

Advance Mono questions, answered

Is Advance Mono braid?

No. Sufix markets the HMPE and Hyper Copolymer combination as monofilament. This page preserves that product classification.

Is it the same as Advance Fluorocarbon?

No. Advance Fluorocarbon is a separate 100% fluorocarbon line with different listed diameters and package lengths.

Does lower stretch mean no stretch?

No. Sufix makes a comparative lower-stretch claim; this guide does not treat Advance Mono as a zero-stretch line or independently validate that percentage.

Why is the 25 lb filler missing?

The exact Clear, Lo-Vis Green and Neon Lime filler product codes have 330-yard length fields but 250-yard manufacturer image labels. They are withheld, not silently changed to either length. The 25 lb diameter and separate 1,200-yard packages remain verified.

How much Advance Mono will fit my reel?

Use the exact strength and the reel's published capacity. Pound test is not a fixed diameter, so equal-strength products can produce different fill estimates.

Is one 330-yard package enough?

Only when it covers the planned working length and an appropriate reserve. Backing can fill unused volume, but cannot supply more working line for long casts, deep drops or fish runs.

Specifications & sources

Official sources retrieved September 13, 2026. Inch diameters are published; millimeters are calculated as inches x 25.4. 25 lb filler product codes 604-125, 604-125G and 604-125L are withheld: their length fields say 330 yd and exact-product code image labels say 250 yd. A fresh official-page check repeats the conflict. The 25 lb diameter and separate 1200 yd product codes 604-1025, 604-1025G and 604-1025L remain verified. Package options are not a stock or price guarantee.

Calculations use the catalog's listed inch diameters. Published inch and millimeter values may differ slightly because of rounding.
