Sufix Advance Fluorocarbon

Sufix Advance Fluorocarbon manufacturer product package

Advance Fluorocarbon is the 100% fluorocarbon member of the Advance family. Sufix describes Gel Phase Technology and G2 Precision Winding. The U.S. mainline has 200- and 1,200-yard packages; Advance Fluorocarbon Leader is a separate product.

Is Advance Fluorocarbon right for your setup?

Consider this product when fluorocarbon will be the line you cast and store on the reel. A 200-yard package may support a full fill or a working section over backing. If only a short leader is wanted, plan leader consumption separately and calculate reel capacity from the actual braid or mono mainline.

Choosing your setup

Choosing your Advance Fluorocarbon strength

The 4-8 lb rows run from 0.007 to 0.009 inch. Compare them with the rod rating and presentation before using them on a small spinning reel.

Advance Fluorocarbon 17 lb is listed at 0.015 inch. Castable Invisiline 17 lb is listed at 0.016; the family names and matching strength do not make those capacity inputs interchangeable.

The 20, 25 and 30 lb sizes progressively increase to 0.017, 0.018 and 0.020 inch. Choose a reel and rod suited to the thicker line, not just a mathematically acceptable capacity.

Specification-based guidance, not a ReelCalc hands-on performance test. Capacity results are estimates, not measured fills.

Backing, working line & leaders

Plan the 200-yard working supply

Check the exact capacity before assuming one package covers a full reel. When using backing, choose enough fluorocarbon to keep the join below normal casts and fish runs.

Separate mainline and leader packages

The verified 200- and 1,200-yard offerings on this page are mainline packages. Do not import 25-yard Advance Leader options into this purchase calculation.

Account for line management

Use even tension and the reel's fill guidance. Sufix's handling claims do not guarantee that a thick fluorocarbon will behave comfortably on every compact spinning spool.

Advance Fluorocarbon questions, answered

Is Advance Fluorocarbon 100% fluorocarbon?

Yes, the official mainline page identifies it as 100% fluorocarbon and names Gel Phase Technology.

Can I use the Advance Mono diameter?

No. Advance Mono is a different construction. Choose the exact product and strength.

Is the leader version included?

No. Advance Fluorocarbon Leader has a separate product identity and retail lineup; this page covers mainline packages.

How much Advance Fluorocarbon will fit my reel?

Use the exact strength and the reel's published capacity. Pound test is not a fixed diameter, so equal-strength products can produce different fill estimates.

Is one 200-yard package enough?

Only when it covers the planned working length and an appropriate reserve. Backing can fill unused volume, but cannot supply more working line for long casts, deep drops or fish runs.
