This guide covers original Reaction Tackle Nylon Monofilament in Clear bulk spools. The amount supplied changes with strength: 6 lb contains 2,400 yards, while 20 lb contains 800 yards. Separate 350-yard and jumbo packages are not included here.

Bulk mono for deliberate fill planning

This package range makes sense to evaluate for multiple reel fills or a mono working line with reserve supply. Its varying yardage comes from the weight-spool offering, not a change in how capacity is calculated. Match the exact test and physical diameter before dividing a large spool among reels; a high supplied yardage is not a recommendation for thin line in demanding cover.

Choosing your setup

Choosing your Reaction Nylon Mono strength

Choose 6-12 lb or 15-20 lb according to the rod, lure and fishing conditions, not according to which package contains the most yards.

The verified 10 lb is 0.286 mm and 15 lb is 0.331 mm. Use those published values rather than a generic nylon diameter table.

This chart is the original Clear bulk offering. Do not automatically add 350-yard filler or 1-pound jumbo sizes to every test without checking those separate variants.

This is a source-based specification and setup guide, not a hands-on review or comparative performance test.

Backing, working line & leaders

Separate supplied yards from capacity

The 1,600-yard 10 lb package is line inventory. Estimate the amount that fits the selected reel rather than treating the entire supply as one fill.

Plan multiple fills

Add your intended working lengths across reels and leave allowance for trimming and knots. Remaining supply can be kept for future replacement fills.

Use the right record for backing

When this nylon is used underneath braid, select its exact diameter as backing. That is different from using the nylon as the line you cast.

Reaction Nylon Mono questions, answered

Why does stronger mono have fewer yards?

These exact weight-spool variants contain less length as diameter increases. The package title gives the verified yardage for each test.

Does the chart include the 350-yard product?

No. The 350-yard filler listing is a separate package scope and is not silently added to this bulk-product evidence.

Can it be used as backing?

It can be planned as mono backing when appropriate for the reel. Use the selected test's real diameter and keep the working-line connection below the casting section.

Specifications & sources

Checked September 13, 2026 against the official product information linked below. The official product body gives mm to three decimal places in this range; inches are calculated without replacing those values with generic mono estimates. Offered specifications do not establish current stock; this is not an independent diameter measurement.

Calculations use the catalog's listed inch diameters. Published inch and millimeter values may differ slightly because of rounding.
